Four Thanksgiving Traditions to be Thankful For

Thanksgiving is a time to be reminded that there are so many things to be thankful for, especially time spent with family. While planning and preparing can get stressful, remember these four traditions to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Turkey Dinner

Who doesn’t love a feast of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, and pie? Pecan verses pumpkin pie is yet to be determined! No judgement from us if you have a slice of both! Approximately 46 million turkeys are cooked every year, and each of those turkeys is surrounded by family memories in the making.

Family Gatherings

In world of crazy-busy chaotic schedules Thanksgiving is a day to unwind and be present with your family—even if you are cooking! Invite your kiddos into the kitchen to learn how to prep stuffing or cranberry sauce.

Better yet? Let us do the cooking! Our Thanksgiving Day Buffet gets you the luxury to skip the crazy grocery store visit, and cranberry sauce-everywhere cleanup in your kitchen. Less prep and cleaning will make more time to soak in special moments with your family. Speaking of soak, stick around after the buffet and let the kiddos burn off their turkey energy at the indoor waterpark!

Football

Football is nearly as synonymous with Thanksgiving as turkey is! The Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys are a Thanksgiving Day ritual for football enthusiasts. The Lions’ first Thanksgiving Day game was in 1934 in efforts to attract more fans to the stadium. NBC broadcasted it, and they have hosted a Thanksgiving Day game ever since! (exception of 1939-1944 during World War II). Thanksgiving Day football is a spectator sport for the entire family to cheer with one another for their teams.
